Privacy Policy

Straightforward terms, no fine-print surprises — the same honesty we apply to grading a phone.

This Privacy Policy explains what information iPhoneBayKE collects when you browse, buy, or trade in a device with us, and what we do with it. We are a small team — the same people who read your WhatsApp messages are the ones who handle your data, and we treat it accordingly.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we collect:

  • Order details — name, phone number, email address, and delivery address, taken at checkout.
  • Payment references — confirmation codes from M-Pesa, or a transaction reference from our card processor. We never see or store your full card number or M-Pesa PIN; those are handled directly by Safaricom and our payment gateway.
  • Trade-in details — the device model, storage, condition, and IMEI you give us for a quote, plus any photos you send us to support that quote.
  • Support messages — anything you send us via WhatsApp, the contact form, or email, kept so we can follow up on the same conversation.
  • Basic technical data — standard server logs and cart/session cookies needed to keep the shop working (see Section 6).

2. How we use it

We use your information to confirm and fulfil orders, coordinate delivery or collection, verify trade-in devices and pay out quotes, honour warranty claims, and reply to support questions. If you have asked to hear about stock or price drops, we may message you about that — you can opt out at any time by telling us so on WhatsApp.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell customer data. Information is shared only where it is needed to do business with you:

  • Payment processors (M-Pesa, card gateway) receive what they need to process your payment.
  • Couriers receive your name, phone number, and delivery address for that specific delivery.
  • We may disclose information if legally required to do so — for example, in response to a valid court order.

4. How long we keep it

We keep order and warranty records for as long as your warranty is active, plus a reasonable period after for accounting and dispute purposes. Support conversations are kept so we have context if you write to us again. You can ask us to delete data we no longer need to hold — see Section 5.

5. Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to show you what data we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete data we are not required to keep (for example, once a warranty period has fully lapsed and there is no open order or dispute). Reach out through the Contact page or WhatsApp and we will action it directly — no ticket system, no call centre.

6. Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies to keep your cart working, remember your session, and understand which pages get used so we can improve the store. These are functional and basic analytics cookies — we don’t run third-party ad-tracking on this site.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date above. We won’t make a material change to how we use your data without a reasonable way for you to find out.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request to see, correct, or delete your data, can go to us directly through the Contact page or WhatsApp. We aim to respond the same day.
